Kyle Moriarty, Advocacy Educator
Kyle Moriarty is a person with autism and works as a Advocacy Educator for Green Mountain Self Advocates (GMSA) of Vermont. He began using facilitated communication in 2003. Kyle sits on the State Standing Committee for Disability Rights and works to make sure that the voices of individuals with disabilities are heard.
Kyle is a peer leader of the Communication Alliance, a group of individuals who communicate using facilitated communication. The Alliance works to spread awareness about autism, the presumption of competence and alternative forms of communication. He actively speaks before legislative committees at the State House on behalf of people with disabilities, about public policies and programs that impact their quality of life.
Kyle has a goal to end the discrimination of people with disabilities and spread the word that we are all equally deserving of a full and meaningful life.
