This workshop is designed for professionals who struggle with understanding their role and capacity in supporting sexuality. Maintaining values neutrality is an important principle in support work. This can be particularly challenging when faced with issues involving sexuality. Participants will explore personal values regarding sexuality and their key roles and responsibilities. We develop strategies for maintaining boundaries through the use of interactive exercises and thoughtful discussion. We will present a curriculum geared towards people with developmental disabilities and discuss strategies to support peer sexuality educators.
This workshop was developed by Planned Parenthood of Northern New England in collaboration with self-advocates.
